3.5   Power Adapter and Power Supply Cable

Raspberry Pi can supply electricity of 5.1V DC power via Micro USB socket. To supply power to the Raspberry Pi, you first need a power cable that supports the Micro USB socket. It is commonly used in mobile phones, so it can be easily obtained from around, or it can be shared with mobile devices.

To supply power to the Raspberry Pi, you need a power adapter that can transform the household AC power into a DC voltage required by the Raspberry Pi, and supply enough current needed by the Raspberry Pi. Since the amount of current that can be supplied depends on each adapter, it is good to prepare a proper adapter that can supply enough current considering the operating environment of Raspberry Pi.

Please refer to [2.4 Power Supply] for the current required by Raspberry Pi. According to the recommendation, it is advisable to prepare to supply more than 700mA for Raspberry Pi 1, 1.8A for Raspberry Pi 2 model B, and 2.5A for Raspberry Pi 3 model B.
