3.6   Network Device             

 

3.6.1     WAN Connection Device, LAN Hub and Router

 

If you want to connect your computer to a network and work with another computer, you need network access equipment. Commonly used networks include LAN networks and WAN networks.

 

A LAN network is a form in which a certain number of computers are connected to each other in a limited space, and a device used to connect to such a network is a LAN HUB. Through the LAN HUB, computers on the same network can exchange necessary data with each other.

 

On the other hand, a WAN network is a form in which one LAN network is connected to other LAN networks around, and the equipment used to connect LAN networks to each other is a WAN access device. Such a WAN access device functions to connect several computers included in a specific LAN to a computer in another external LAN network.

 

In recent years, there are many network devices that provide both LAN HUB and WAN connection functions, which is a common Internet router. In addition to the network connection using the wired cable, it is easy to use the devices that support the wireless connection using the Wi-Fi, so you can choose the appropriate model for your needs.
