9.6 Internationalization Options 설정

■ locale 설정
locale이란 여러 개의 language들 간에 스위칭할 수 있는 체계로서 사용자가 자신의 언어, 국가코드, 문자 및 이들과 연관된 규칙들의 집합인 collation order 등을 선택할 수 있도록 해준다. 새로이 설치된 시스템에서 locales을 선택할 때는 UTF-8 locale이 기본 locale로 선택되어야 한다. 다른 locale은 이전 방식의 시스템이 필요한 경우 다른 시스템들과의 backward compatibility를 지원하기 위한 것이다.

■ Locale setting
A locale is a system to allow switching among several languages, and it allows the user to select the user’s language, country code, and characters, and a collation order which is a set of rules associated with them. When selecting locales on a newly installed system, the UTF-8 locale must be selected as the default locale. Other locales are to support backward compatibility with other systems that need previous systems.
